Berry Watch
Picking conditions & farm updates

Updated August 8th

Strawberry season is over for the year and the berries are currently covered in a warm blanket of straw to protect them from winter temperatures. We hope to see you in the strawberry patch in 2018!

In the meantime, there are a few dates to keep in mind:

  • Check back here in late February to early March for more information if you are interested in seasonal employment at Prellwitz Produce.
  • Start making plans! Strawberry season generally begins in mid-July and lasts for 2.5 weeks. We will send out more detailed communication when that arrives. If you don't want to miss a beat (or a berry), be sure to sign up for our Berry Blast emails. We send only a handful of emails a year as the season arrives.

Locally-grown produce on a family farm.

Prellwitz Produce is a family farm nestled just a few miles north of Ripon, Wisconsin. We planted our first strawberries in 1993 and have enjoyed the sweet rewards of fresh and local produce since then. Prellwitz Produce is primarily known for pick-your-own and pre-picked strawberries, but we also have sugar snap and shell peas available during the season. The farm has blossomed into a multi-generation effort, so family members also grow grapes for Vines & Rushes Winery, and raspberries and blackberries for The Brambles.

For us, Prellwitz Produce has always been about more than berries. Those who visit the farm - whether for the first time or loyal customers who return year after year - truly become part of our community. Each year, we welcome grandbabies, great-grandparents and every age in-between.

We hope to see you and your family in the patch!
